Part of being a fisherman in Vermont is participating in the state's master angler program. This allows for anglers to commemorate a great catch by submitting a picture with some measurements to a state biologist. If approved the catch is added to the master angler registry for the year and the fisherman receives a certificate, bragging rights, AND if the minimum number of species is reached, a custom designed pin.
This is not only a fantastic opportunity for Vermont anglers to celebrate our successes, but additionally a great way for the state to collect valuable data about fish populations and anglers.
